Chapter 328 -328-The Struggle Between Order and Chaos
Chapter 328 -328-The Struggle Between Order and Chaos
No one knew how much time had passed.
At long last, the Shield of Aegis finally broke free from that deadly forbidden zone!
Inside the shield, Daniel and the others remained silent for a long time, still lost in the lingering shock of having witnessed two mighty Oracle-grade beings fight each other to the death.
That world-destroying power was branded deep into their souls, leaving them unable to calm down even after a long while.
"So... even those lofty Oracle-grade beings will fight like ordinary mortals in the Star Sea, drawing blades against one another for the sake of profit."
Daniel’s gaze was profound.
"Before the Star Sea, even Oracle-grade beings are nothing more than slightly stronger ants."
"Hahaha... You’re absolutely right. As of now, no existence can clearly describe just how vast this universe truly is. At least, none exist within the understanding of us Chaos Humans!"
"Oh, right. In a little while, we should be arriving at the Chaosverse."
Dustin laughed, his tone much more relaxed than before.
"I heard the Chaosverse is a universe that was born not long ago. Lord Dustin, what exactly is the difference between a newly born universe and our Myriad-Star Cosmos?"
James leaned forward slightly, curiosity flashing in his eyes.
Daniel also listened with full attention.
Although he had read through some ancient texts regarding the Chaosverse, how could those dry written records compare to Dustin, a native of that place, personally explaining it to them?
Dustin looked around at the group. Seeing the interest written clearly on their faces, he cleared his throat and slowly began.
"Since all of you are curious, I’ll give you a brief introduction to the Chaosverse."
"The Chaosverse has existed for only tens of billions of years. Compared with an ancient universe like the Myriad-Star Cosmos, which has existed for trillions of years, the difference between them is naturally as vast as heaven and earth."
He smiled.
"For example, in the various starfields of the Myriad-Star Cosmos, there are more or less one or two dominant-level forces presiding over each region. Order is maintained, and every force keeps to its place."
Daniel and the others nodded silently.
Gold Holy Mountain was the one and only overlord of the Canaan starfield, while Starvault Sanctum was the towering pillar of the Budelica starfield.
These two great forces each guarded their own domain. If foreign enemies dared to invade, they would inevitably be met with a crushing counterattack.
That was the rule.
It was an iron law forged through countless years of slaughter and bloodshed.
"But the Chaosverse is completely different—there, everything is chaos. There are no rules."
Dustin blinked, his voice carrying a trace of helplessness.
"The only truth in the Chaosverse is this: rules themselves have never existed."
Dustin’s voice was low and calm.
"Within each major starfield, wars never cease. Between starfields, endless slaughter continues without pause. Even the forces from outer universes and the native powers of the Chaosverse have never stopped crossing blades."
"Even Oracle-grade beings often fall in the depths of the starry sky. It is so chaotic that with every dawn, some force is uprooted completely, leaving not a single blade of grass behind!"
Daniel and the others could not help but draw in a cold breath.
What kind of universe was this?
It was clearly a hell where law and order had no place to exist!
Yet Dustin’s expression remained relaxed, his tone calm and indifferent.
"However, the situation has improved somewhat now."
Everyone held their breath, afraid they might miss even half a word.
"The current Chaosverse is divided into two great factions."
Dustin’s gaze was as deep as the starry sky.
"The first is called the Order faction. Its members are all native forces and ancient races of the Chaosverse. They advocate imitating the ancient universes, using strength as the foundation to establish boundaries, with each side guarding its own territory and refraining from violating the domains of others."
"We Chaos Humans are members of the Order faction!"
"The second is called the Chaos faction. Its members are mostly invading forces from outer universes. They believe in only one creed—the strong devour the weak. Only those with strength have the right to create the future. Those who fall are unworthy of possessing anything."
Daniel nodded slightly. In his heart, he already understood.
What the Order faction desired was to use Strength as the foundation to divide territory, creating a world like the Myriad-Star Cosmos—orderly, stable, and with every force in its rightful place.
The creed of the Chaos faction, however, was incomparably brutal.
Survival itself was the only justice!
The conflict between these two sides was like blazing fire meeting freezing ice. There was no possibility of reconciliation.
"Then what is the current situation like?" James asked.
"The two great factions are locked in a stalemate."
Dustin shrugged, his tone carrying a faint, helpless sigh.
"After all, the Chaosverse is still a newborn universe. Even if it has remained chaotic for tens of billions of years, that is still only natural. Order is never born overnight. It must be watered by endless blood, and its long road must be paved with the bones of generation after generation."
"If we want to bring order to the entire Chaosverse, we Chaos Humans still have a very long road ahead of us. But we will never yield, and we will never lose our way!"
"You Chaos Humans certainly have confidence and conviction!"
James said with a grin, though a bit more sincere respect had appeared in his eyes.
A chaotic universe meant endless casualties and sacrifice.
Since the Chaos Humans lived amid such chaos, they naturally had no way to remain untouched by it.
Dustin smiled, then turned his gaze toward Daniel.
"Although the Chaos Humans are ranked only third among the human branches of the Endless Starfield, in terms of potential, we are absolutely no weaker than the Saint Lun Humans, who are ranked first."
"Because we took root and sprouted in the cruelest soil. We were tempered and forged in the bloodiest storms. Every single one of our powerhouses crawled out from mountains of corpses and seas of blood!"
The powerful figures present suddenly understood.
The human race was merely a quasi-first-rate race within the Endless Starfield. Whether it was the Myriad-Star Humans or the Chaos Humans, they were only one branch within the great surging river that was humanity.
But every branch would one day flow into the boundless ocean!
As for who would ultimately guide the direction of that current, that would still depend on whose fists were harder!
While the powerful figures were chatting and laughing, the Shield of Aegis had already quietly approached the edge of the Chaosverse.
The transparent cosmic barrier stood right before their eyes, separating the two universes like a soap bubble. It emitted a faint, shimmering glow.
Buzz—!
The edge of the Shield of Aegis cut open a deep rift and steadily sailed into the territory of the Chaosverse.
Dustin suddenly raised his hand and summoned a flag from the void.
The flag unfurled in the wind, embroidered with the ancient emblem of the Chaos Humans.
It depicted a colossal starry-sky beast with its head raised in a roaring posture. The flag snapped and fluttered amid the stars, flying alongside the Shield of Aegis.
"What is that for?"
Camille asked in confusion.
"You’ll know in a moment."
Dustin smiled and shook his head, a hint of caution in his eyes.
"The Chaosverse..."
Daniel, however, paid no attention to these minor details.
His gaze pierced through the shield’s barrier and turned toward this strange, unfamiliar universe.
"The Chaos Humans..."
Dustin guided the Shield of Aegis forward slowly. The shield moved with perfect stability, as though traveling over flat ground.
Daniel and the other powerhouses silently observed this unfamiliar universe. Everywhere they looked, there were unfamiliar stars and unfamiliar lights.
However, they were all powerhouses of the new generation, and their horizons were broad. To them, the Chaosverse did not seem all that different from the Myriad-Star Cosmos.
In the end, it still followed the same divisions of galaxies, star rivers, and starfields.
The stars were still stars.
Only their arrangement was slightly different.
Suddenly, the Shield of Aegis arrived at a certain place.
Boom!
Rumble!
Deafening sounds of collision and explosion came from up ahead. Mixed among them were the thunderous sounds of battle, the screams of the dying, and furious roars filled with rage.
They had...
They had barged straight into a battlefield!?
