Chapter 1120: Jealousy
Chapter 1120: Jealousy
Vincent Warner had just parked the car in the yard when Stella Charlie came out to meet him.The temperature outside was low, and Stella was only wearing a robe.
Vincent reached out and pulled her into his arms, "Let’s get inside, don’t catch a cold."
Stella teased, "I thought you got held up and wouldn’t be back."
Vincent pinched her cheek playfully, "I promised I wouldn’t leave you again."
"So... did your mom find out?"
Vincent paused briefly, then gently closed the door and looked at Stella seriously, "I plan to take you to see her tomorrow and explain everything and my commitment to her in person."
Stella took his coat and hung it on the rack in the hallway, "What about the matchmaking thing?"
"Of course, I refused. Don’t let it upset you."
Stella smiled, "I’m not upset because I have a matchmaking appointment too tomorrow."
Vincent’s expression froze, his brow furrowed, "Don’t joke around."
Stella held his hand and led him to the living room, "I’m serious. The neighbor next door introduced him to me. She’s already introduced me to quite a few even before you came looking for me."
Vincent’s face darkened, "But now we’re married, and you still want to go?"
Stella intentionally teased him, pretending to be troubled, "I can’t back out, it’s already scheduled. I have to at least meet the person."
Vincent responded unhappily, "You’re not allowed to go."
Stella chuckled softly, "The guy is quite nice. I even have his photo, and he’s pretty handsome. I..."
"Stella Charlie!" Vincent reprimanded in a low voice, a clearly jealous expression on his face.
Stella’s eyes sparkled with amusement as she wrapped her arms around Vincent’s waist, looking up at him, asking, "Didn’t your mom mention the girl she wants you to meet?"
Stella’s question caused Vincent’s body to tense, realizing something at the same time Stella let go of him and turned to take out some photos given to her by Mrs. Durand from her bag.
"This is the gentleman I’m supposed to meet tomorrow."
Vincent took the photos, looking at himself in the pictures with surprise, unable to believe his eyes, "Such a coincidence?"
Stella: "I didn’t expect it to be you either."
Vincent: "When my mom mentioned the girl was a translator, I thought of you, but I never imagined the girl she was talking about was actually you."
Stella teased, "If she knew, she probably wouldn’t have introduced me to you."
Vincent recalled and couldn’t help but laugh, "She kept praising that girl in the car, saying how pretty and capable she was, making a name for herself wasn’t easy."
Stella laughed softly, leaning into Vincent’s embrace, "I hope she still feels that way tomorrow."
Vincent wrapped his arms around Stella, "I originally thought she was exaggerating, but now it seems she was being truthful."
"So should we go to the matchmaking together tomorrow?"
Vincent: "Sure, I’ll call her."
Watching Vincent call his mother to arrange the matchmaking for tomorrow, Stella, though mentally prepared, was still worried and nervous.
She hoped that tomorrow’s meeting might slightly change Mom Warner’s impression of her.
She wasn’t trying to win over Mom Warner, she just didn’t want Vincent to be caught in the middle.
She now believed that Vincent was determined to stay by her side regardless of anything else, but she didn’t want him to lose too much because of her.
