Chapter 48 Walkthrough Begins
A whole day had passed by the time they arrived in Hills; it was the evening of the following day.
Lei Ye lingered on the edge of the city, pondering how to enter it.
The Goblin King's body is quite useful, allowing him to travel such a long distance and easily kill any lower-level monsters he encounters along the way. However, it's not convenient for disguise, and Raino doesn't know how he can blend into the city in this form.
He didn't have much with him when he left that goblin cave: a few weapons, magic stones, potions, and clothes. He could probably tear his clothes to make a makeshift cloak and put on a hood, but even that wouldn't be enough to get past the guards at the gate.
After much thought, Lei Ye came up with two ideas. One was to disguise himself as a small animal so he could sneak into the city. However, if he had no ability to protect himself, he couldn't feel at ease. It would be ridiculous if some genius killed him at will.
Another option is to lie in ambush, target a passerby, and with a human body, everything becomes much easier.
However, this would lead to another problem: the people outside the city would either be guarded caravans or exploration teams that had accepted commissions. If they were to exchange, there would definitely be a conflict. If the unconscious passerby were to die, his sins would be far too great.
There is only one type of person who appears alone outside the city: the lone wolf. There is only one lone wolf in this city.
Loya.
So after thinking about it, I decided against it. Even if I were lucky enough to catch Loya and switch places with her, it would only make things more chaotic.
He struggled with the decision for a long time but couldn't make up his mind, so he decided to think of a solution during the day tomorrow.
After running for a day and a night, his body and mind had reached their limits, and he needed to rest.
However, he didn't need to dwell on it; he had just fallen asleep when he returned to Hillierius, in the same way he had left it.
Lei Ye was awakened by the light shining on his face and the cheers.
When he opened his eyes, he was no longer in the bushes he had randomly found.
The soft soil beneath his buttocks transformed into a hard wooden frame, surrounded by magic lamps that blinded him. Before he could even see his surroundings clearly, thunderous applause erupted around him.
"Goblin? Orc? What is that?"
"You're so ignorant! This is an extremely rare Goblin King! You can even summon such a monster? Master Anlashi, you're simply amazing!"
"I hope there's no danger. This thing looks so fierce..."
The people in the audience were familiar neighbors, who applauded and chatted amongst themselves.
The person on the stage is the familiar Al-Ahram.
She was staring at him, her face twitching slightly in pain.
"Ugh... Ugh... This is so strange. With my luck, I should only be able to draw goblins, so why do I keep drawing powerful monsters these days? My mana... Ugh..."
Anlashi collapsed to the ground as if she could no longer hold on, placing her hands on her ample chest and panting heavily.
Lei Ye immediately recognized that this was a sign of her magic being depleted.
He immediately crouched down, put his forearm under her armpit to support her body, and casually took out a low-quality magic potion he had brought from the goblin cave and fed it to her.
The stronger the summoned monster, the more magic power is consumed. This is a characteristic of Anrashi's skill. She was quite unlucky. Lei Ye had just run near Xierlius when she was shaken over by her. She didn't know how much magic power it would take to maintain a temporary contract with a Goblin King, but it must have been unpleasant. Her face turned pale.
Anlahi, who was helped up, was stunned for a moment and stared blankly at the goblin king.
"Huh...? That's strange, you goblin are quite considerate? Oh, you even brought your own potions?"
Perhaps because it was the first time Anrahi had been treated this way by his own summoned creature, he seemed somewhat at a loss.
The magic potion took effect quickly, and her condition improved considerably. She suddenly stood up again and struck a very cool pose.
Lei Ye glanced at the circus ringmaster backstage. He had been staring at them with a very displeased look, as if he was very dissatisfied with Anrashi's mistake. Little did he know that the Goblin King here was even more dissatisfied with him, as he was unwilling to even provide a magic potion. This exploitation was simply too much.
He then looked towards the audience seats.
The audience was very enthusiastic. It seems that Master Allah's performances have been well-received by the local people and he has gained considerable prestige.
Raino even saw Loya standing in the corner seat.
Ouch... how come you're all bruised and swollen and wrapped in bandages? Healers can heal almost all types of external injuries, and bandages are often used to cover up the redness and swelling. Did Loya get into trouble these past two days? She actually got a severe beating to the face.
Even her personality has been softened; Loya in the corner gives Raino the feeling he had when he first saw Loya on Line 2.
Lei Ye couldn't help but worry.
He was always afraid that person was going to do something with his body.
The worst-case scenario would be a massacre, with the body going on rampage throughout the city. Given its strength, no one would be able to stop it. Fortunately, it seems that such a thing has not happened so far.
The second worst-case scenario is that he opens a harem and uses his body to do whatever he wants. If the virginity that Lei Ye and Line 1 and 2 have jointly protected for a total of ten years is taken away in this way, wouldn't it be the same as being taken away by that Sao Fu Rui? Isn't that a kind of NTR? This is even more terrifying than killing him.
I wonder if Loya's sad expression is related to that "Rayno".
Please don't do that...
"Move...move!"
Suddenly, Anlashi, who was standing to the side, hurriedly poked his body with the baton in his hand.
He then pointed to the ring of fire next to him.
Oh right, so this is a performance, isn't it?
What should we do...? Anyway, thanks to Anlashi, he at least managed to get into the city. Tonight, he can find a chance to move freely and go home to arrest Lei Ye. As Master Anlashi's summoned creature, it can at least provide a layer of protection. If he refuses to perform, he will most likely be sent back to where he started and have to find a way to get into the city again. Moreover, Anlashi will most likely suffer the double blow of the audience's boos and the leader's scolding because of the failure of tonight's performance.
There's no other way but to go for it.
Lei Ye leaped high, clearing the ring of fire with perfect movement. Following Anlaxi's baton, he moved back and forth repeatedly, finally coming to a stop and spreading his arms like a gymnast completing a graceful routine.
Applause broke out, but not as much as Lei Ye had imagined.
"Well done, goblin! Now, show us your dance moves!"
Anlaxi continued to wave the baton in her hand. In fact, Lei Ye knew that the baton and verbal instructions were for the audience to see. The real instructions only needed to be thought in his mind. Fortunately, she needed to speak, otherwise Lei Ye, in his uncontrollable state, would not be able to accept her commands and would not know what she wanted to do.
As for the dance Lei Ye is going to perform, he knows a little bit of it. Anlaxi showed it to him many times on Line 1. Calling it a dance is more like calling it an enhanced version of Rainbow Sunshine. It's a bit awkward, but it's easy to learn.
Since he was in a goblin's body anyway, Raino wasn't ashamed at all, and jumped around on the spot following Anlashi's commands.
However, this time the applause was even less, and Lei Ye even heard boos.
"What... It's supposed to be a rare Goblin King, but it's the same old thing."
"What I mean is, Master Anrashi, we want you to summon some new monsters so we can see a new performance, not to see other monsters repeating the same things we've seen many times before."
"That's it, Master Allah is done for."
Upon hearing someone say that he was dead, Anlashi showed an even more distressed expression than when he had just exhausted his magic.
She immediately waved her arms.
"Don't worry, everyone, I've prepared a new performance for today. I'll make it... uh..."
Your talent is utterly worthless, Anrashi...
Lei Ye remembered that Anlaxi had also experienced this moment of being ridiculed for not having any work on Line 1.
It's not that there's no work to do. If you performed these kinds of shows elsewhere, there would probably always be an audience. But this is the Hills Grand Stage. Without some really good stuff, you can't guarantee fan loyalty. People will get tired of ordinary performances very quickly.
As expected, Lei Ye saw several audience members sigh in disappointment and leave silently.
It didn't matter whether she had work on Line 1 or not, because she wouldn't need to be a clown for long. She was rescued and joined the Forest River, becoming an explorer. But on Line 2, she might need to work here for a few more days. Looking at her apologetic face as she looked at the audience, Raino became increasingly annoyed.
When she was in the Forest River, Anlashi showed considerable creativity. The reason she has so little work now is probably because the oppression she has suffered over the past five years has stifled her innovative abilities.
Lei Ye knew that this wasn't a reason the audience needed to know; he was simply unhappy.
You like watching live performances, right?
My buddy has one.
Lei Ye waved his hand and ripped off the Goblin King's loincloth.
He suddenly started acting arrogantly, like a catheter!
"Brother, goblin! What are you doing!" Anrahi screamed in terror.
She turned to look at the circus ringmaster and waved her hands repeatedly, trying to show that this was not her direction, but found that the ringmaster's gaze was not on her at all; he was looking directly at the audience.
Anrahi also looked at the audience, who had all stood up at some point.
After a brief silence, she heard the loudest cheers she had heard since arriving in Hillius.
"That's it! This is what we want to see!"
"I've never even seen that goblin thing before, Tucker! Help me get rid of all the kids, Master Anrashi is finally going to pull out some amazing tricks!"
The people in the audience were buzzing with excitement.
Lei Ye hadn't expected this reaction. Enraged, he grabbed the weapon he had thrown and flung it at the faces of the shouting people.
"Screw you!"
Although it caused a commotion, the performance tonight seemed to be a great success, perfectly heating up the atmosphere. The circus ringmaster received a good amount of money and didn't say much.
The circus cages couldn't hold Lei Ye, so he was walking back to the staff dormitory with Anlashi.
In fact, Lei Ye thought that he could switch bodies with the leader at any time and try to break the work contract with Anlaxi and free her from here, but the first priority was to find Lei Ye and switch bodies back. Before that, he did not want to cause any trouble.
Because he had reached this point, he had to think about how to deal with that enemy. It was precisely because he now knew that the swap skill was incredibly powerful that the enemy was so terrifying. If that guy discovered that he had returned, he could use a chain swap to escape and blend into the crowd so that no one could find him.
Then Lei Ye will live in suspicion for the rest of his life, wondering if any passerby who approaches him is a hidden enemy, and wanting to slap him unconscious.
Therefore, Lei Ye thought he must win by surprise. The other party must not know that he also has this skill. When Lei Ye finds him, he will first use the monster's body to exchange with him, and then take advantage of the other party's lack of time to react to kill him with one strike, thus eliminating future troubles.
Once Anlashi is asleep, I will go out.
This is the cheapest day-rental hotel. It doesn't have a bathroom, the room is very small and only has a bed. There isn't even a table. The only decent things are the magic lamp overhead and the magic heater in the room. This is only because the two engineers at Hilius on Line 2 have driven down the price of these basic magical items.
Lei Ye hadn't expected that Anlaxi had been living in such conditions for so long, and it made him feel a little sorry for her.
However, Anlashi seemed to have adapted to the environment quite well. As soon as she entered, she started taking off her clothes, which startled Lei Ye, who was following behind, and he quickly turned around.
The soft sound behind him lasted for a short while, then suddenly disappeared. Anlashi noticed Lei Ye had turned around, and came over to poke him in the lower back.
"Really... You even know you shouldn't peek at girls changing clothes? You're quite the gentleman, goblin. In that case, I'll make up a bed for you as a reward."
It was called making a bed, but it was really just a few old clothes spread on the floor next to the bed. However, it was not bad for a summoned monster. Lei Ye still did not look at her. Anlaxi took off her milk basket and changed into pajamas. Because her waist was much thinner than that of Line 1, her huge breasts looked even more exaggerated. He avoided her gaze and went to the makeshift bed that Anlaxi had made for him, and lay down flat.
All that's left is to wait for Anlashi to fall asleep; Raino knows that guy is a heavy sleeper.
But Lei Ye lay there waiting and waiting, but Anlaxi didn't turn off the light. Curious, he turned around and saw her sitting cross-legged on the bed, writing and drawing on it with a pen.
Lei Ye became even more curious. He got up, leaned over to take a look, and discovered that these were all the new performances she had come up with.
...But all of that was too childish. The only idea that was somewhat interesting was to have the summoned monsters wielding swords, spears, and clubs and putting on some fighting scenes on stage, along with a bit of a storyline. But this idea was marked with a big X and said "Rejected".
It turns out that Anrahi wasn't lacking work, but rather he was sidelined by the censors.
"What the heck!" Anlashi turned around and was startled by the goblin's huge face next to her. She shrank back into the corner. "What are you doing! Go away, go away, get out of the way! Seriously, you're acting so weird. Shouldn't you be in standby mode? Why are you moving on your own?"
Lei Ye shook his head, picked up the banknote she had tossed aside, wrote something on it, and handed it over.
Upon seeing this, Anlashi looked even more surprised. She tremblingly took the paper, on which was an extra line of crooked little words.
Don't be afraid, I just wanted to remind you not to overwork yourself. It's late, get some rest.
In an instant, Anlahi's face contorted.
