Chapter 1 Uninvited Guest
Chapter 1 Uninvited Guest
(All storylines in this book take place in parallel universes and are unrelated to reality. Any resemblance to actual events or persons is purely coincidental.)
June 2018, Niihau Island, Hawaii.
This island has been privately owned by the Robinson family since 1836. It is the Hawaiian island that has best preserved its traditional way of life and is the only island to date that has voted against Hawaii becoming a U.S. state.
The island operates under a closed policy, prohibiting tourists from visiting. The island's residents mainly rely on animal husbandry and seafood fishing for a living, leading a self-sufficient lifestyle.
The island lacks modern facilities and buildings, and has no police or military. After completing eight years of compulsory education, residents can apply to high schools on neighboring islands or attend university in Honolulu, the capital of Hawaii.
In the center of this island lies the largest lake in the Hawaiian Islands, called Lake Harari. In the center of the lake is a small island, about 1 square kilometer in size. There are no other buildings on the island except for a somewhat Baroque-style castle. However, it seems to have been uninhabited for a long time. The castle looks dilapidated, with moss covering the outer walls and weeds growing in the grounds. It is clear that it has not been maintained for a long time.
Today, an uninvited guest arrived on this island where only the indigenous people are allowed to live and tourists are prohibited from entering.
This is a man who looks very young.
The man was tall and muscular, with an exceptionally handsome face. What was most strange was that he gave off a very mysterious aura.
"This should be it."
The man muttered something to himself and walked step by step toward the lake, gazing at the ancient castle in the middle of the lake.
Just as he was about to leave, a childish voice rang out behind him, not in English, but in ancient Hawaiian, "Who are you?"
The man turned around and saw a boy of about ten years old standing about six or seven meters away, looking at him warily.
The man smiled and pointed to the ancient castle, asking in the same old Hawaiian, "Is anyone still living in that castle?"
"Huh, you can actually speak our language!?"
Hearing the man speak fluent Hawaiian, the little boy looked on incredulously. This ancient language is spoken by only the 300-odd people living on their island; outsiders can't even understand it, let alone speak it.
The man smiled and continued, "What's your name?"
"Never mind my name, how did you get to this island?"
The little boy, while surprised, once again showed a wary expression. They didn't accept tourists here at all, and they didn't even allow people from other islands in the Hawaiian Islands to come here. Moreover, today wasn't a day when the ferry docked, so there was no way any outsiders could land on the island.
How did this man who suddenly appeared get to the island?
Could he fly?
You should know that there is no airport on this island. The islanders can only travel by boat. Although helicopters can be parked there, the roaring sound of helicopters would definitely attract attention. He did not hear the sound of any helicopters today.
Actually, this island isn't untouched by outsiders, but the last uninvited guest to visit it was decades ago during World War II, when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, and a Japanese pilot was forced to land on the island due to a plane malfunction.
The pilot was discovered while igniting his ignition. Some important documents had been taken by the island's natives. Unable to retrieve them, the pilot drew his pistol and fired three shots at a native. The wounded native roared, grabbed the pilot, and threw him against a stone wall, killing him instantly. From then on, a saying circulated: "Don't mess with a Hawaiian more than twice, or he'll get angry the third time."
This indigenous warrior was later commended by the government.
More than 70 years have passed since then, and a second uninvited guest has unexpectedly appeared on the island, appearing without any warning.
"If you don't tell me, I'll call for help!" The little boy took a few steps back, knowing that if a conflict broke out, he would definitely be no match for the tall man in front of him.
"I mean no harm. I'm here to find something." The man spread his hands to indicate that he meant no harm.
"Looking for something? What are you looking for? Who are you?"
Seeing that the man was indeed unarmed, the little boy felt much relieved. He looked at the castle in the middle of the lake, which was the ancestral home of the Robinson family, with a history of over a hundred years. However, the descendants of the family no longer lived on the island, so the castle had been uninhabited for decades. In the past, the castle was maintained by someone from time to time, but in recent years no one had taken care of it.
Could this man be a member of the Robinson family?
However, this man had black hair and black eyes, and didn't look like a member of the Robinson family at all. Yet, he could speak Hawaiian, a language that isn't easy to learn.
This puzzled him greatly.
That's so strange.
The man did not answer the little boy's question, but turned and walked towards the lake, wanting to see if there was a way to get to the island in the middle of the lake.
Seeing this, the little boy quickly chased after the man, then stood in front of him, warning, "If you don't tell me, I'll call for help."
After saying that, the little boy made a gesture as if he was about to shout.
Just then, the man smiled calmly, then raised his hand and snapped his fingers in front of the little boy.
After the snap, the little boy's eyes began to glaze over for some reason, and then his eyes slowly closed, as if he had completely lost consciousness.
The man helped the little boy up and gently laid him down on the grass by the lake. Soon after, the little boy, lying on the grass, began to snore loudly, clearly having fallen into a deep sleep.
After putting the little boy down, the man looked around. There was no way to get to the island from the shore, only a small wooden dock. It seemed that the only way to get there was by boat.
There was a wooden boat by the dock, but it had no engine and could only be rowed across by oars.
Although it wouldn't take long to glide across, it increased his risk of exposure.
There's nothing we can do.
The man looked around again, and finding no one else, he began to concentrate.
Then. . .
He had been standing on the shore when he suddenly disappeared. When he reappeared, he was standing on an island in the middle of the lake.
The distance from the shore to the small island in the middle of the lake is about 80 meters.
Is this what they call...?
Instant teleportation...
After landing on the island, the man strode toward the castle. The castle's large iron gate was tightly closed, but this didn't seem to stop him. He simply placed his hand on the gate, a red light flashed on the lock, and the gate opened automatically. After he entered the castle, the gate closed automatically again, as if nothing had happened.
When all the light disappeared, the man suddenly produced a large flashlight. He shone it around and muttered to himself, "Where could it be?"
Then he began searching for something within the castle.
On the other side, more than half an hour later, a teenage boy came to the lakeside. He found the little boy sleeping soundly on the grass, and then walked over and kicked him with his foot.
After the little boy opened his eyes, the man asked, "Cavill, why are you sleeping here?"
The little boy shook his head, then suddenly remembered the man he had just seen and said urgently, "Sass, outsiders have come to our island."
"Who is it? Where are they?"
Upon hearing this, Sass quickly looked around warily, but he found nothing.
The little boy stood up and looked around, then pointed to the castle in the middle of the lake and said, "It's a man in his twenties. He said he's going to the castle to find something."
"Looking for something? What could possibly be there? Didn't the Robinson family take all the valuables from there years ago? Besides, there are no boats on the lake. How did he get there?"
"I don't know, let's hurry and find someone to go to the island and check."
"it is good."
Although Sass didn't quite believe Cavill's explanation, thinking he was just mistaking a dream for reality, he still went with him to find the adults.
Meanwhile, after some time and through some special methods, the man finally discovered a secret passage leading underground from behind a cabinet in the basement.
The secret passage was very narrow, allowing only one person to pass at a time.
He slowly descended the stairs of the secret passage.
When he reached the bottom, he discovered that it was actually a natural culvert, and the area was very large.
There are also many rotten wooden boxes here, empty inside, indicating that the contents have long been taken away.
On one side of the culvert, there is a small pool of water that emits a deep blue light. The pool must be connected to the lake outside, otherwise the light would not be shining through the water.
Moreover, in his eyes at this moment, the pool was also radiating another kind of golden light.
"It should be down here."
After saying that, the man produced something that looked like a pill in his hand, put the pill in his mouth, and then jumped into the water and swam to the bottom.
After a few minutes of searching, he found a very old-fashioned wooden box under a large, curved rock, the box radiating a golden light that only he could see.
Just then, a number of people boarded boats and landed on the island in the lake.
"Cavill, are you sure you're not dreaming?" a burly man asked, staring at the locked door. It didn't look like anyone had been there.
"No, I really did talk to that person. He said he was looking for something here."
Actually, Cavill was starting to have doubts. He was no longer as confident as before, because all signs indicated that no outsiders had landed on Niihau Island, and no one had come to the island. Otherwise, why would that wooden boat still be on the shore? That person couldn't have swum over there, could he?
"Alright, let's go in and take a look."
The burly man didn't ask any more questions, took out a key, and opened the castle gate.
As soon as the door opened, the man, who was overjoyed to have finally found his target, sensed that someone had come in, because he had set up a warning barrier on the door when he opened it.
This kind of barrier is invisible to ordinary people.
Someone arrived, and the man, no longer caring about the contents of the box, waved his hand, and the box vanished. Then...
He disappeared completely.
The next scene shows the man on a superyacht a few kilometers from the shore of Niihau Island.
