Chapter 7 Tickets
Chapter 7 Tickets
Li Yuan hung up the phone, sighed, quickly packed his things, and hurriedly left.
The night in Taipei was already deep, and there were few pedestrians on the streets. Only the streetlights were lit one after another, illuminating the entire road in a dim yellow light.
He hailed a taxi, gave them his address, and the car sped off.
Leaning against the car window, Li Yuan watched the city lights rushing past outside, feeling a little uneasy—Sun Shengwan's tone didn't sound like she simply wanted to give him tickets.
Upon arriving at the hotel, Li Yuan didn't even have time to rest before heading straight to his room's floor—of course, by elevator.
Following the door numbers, Li Yuan quickly found his room.
Deng Deng Deng!
Li Yuan leaned against the wall by the door with one hand and casually knocked on the door with the other.
The door creaked open a crack, and a small head peeked out furtively—it was Son Seung-wan.
Her eyes darted around, and after confirming that no one else was in the hallway, she grabbed Li Yuan's wrist and pulled him into the room.
"Hey, why are you so nervous?" Li Yuan stumbled a couple of steps after being pulled by her, but couldn't help laughing after regaining his balance. "It's like there's something shameful between us."
He walked into the room jokingly, and before he could finish speaking, his gaze met that of a man sitting on the sofa by the bed—Red Velvet's manager.
"Um... Brother, hello." Li Yuan's voice immediately lowered, and the playful expression on his face instantly disappeared, replaced by a slightly awkward smile.
Saying such things in front of the group's manager, even if he's usually thick-skinned, made him feel a little embarrassed.
"That'll teach you to speak properly!" Son Seungwan wrinkled his nose and snorted.
"It's nothing, I just came to deliver something." The agent breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that it was Li Yuan.
Son Seungwan just called him and asked for two tickets for someone else, referring to him as "him" and speaking in a mysterious tone, which really scared him.
If word got out that a female idol wanted to meet "him" in the middle of the night, he'd be fired as her manager.
He didn't dare to delay at all and went straight to Bae Joo-hyun and Son Seung-wan's room.
It turned out that Li Yuan was the one who arrived.
He was very impressed with this seemingly harmless young man, who looked like a college student.
What kind of person can be so friendly as to chat and laugh with Chairman Lee Soo-man?
"You two can chat anytime. I'm going to rest. I have a lot to do tomorrow." The agent stood up, bowed slightly to Li Yuan, and then turned and left the room.
He also closed the door behind him.
The agent knew very well that Li Yuan's relationship with them was, frankly speaking, just that of a younger brother.
Moreover, given the ambiguous relationship between Lee Won and Lee Soo-man, and the fact that they both share the same surname, he sometimes couldn't help but think: it's not entirely impossible that Lee Won is Lee Soo-man's illegitimate son.
If Li Yuanzhen intended to do something with the person in the room, he probably couldn't do anything but stand guard at the door.
Of course, what he didn't know was that Lee Soo-man's behavior was purely out of appreciation for talent and because Lee Won's family had some background, and had absolutely nothing to do with an illegitimate child.
Only three people remained in the room, and a faint scent of perfume filled the air.
"Actually... I really didn't mean to do that." After the manager left, Li Yuan said again.
"You still dare to talk back!" Son Seungwan's face turned red to her ears, and she raised her hand as if to hit him.
The incident Li Yuan mentioned actually happened several years ago:
At that time, Lee Won received an invitation from Bae Joo-hyun to go to Red Velvet's dorm to taste the "food" she made herself.
Although he was quite reluctant, he couldn't resist Bae Joo-hyun's repeated requests.
Then, as she entered, she bumped into Son Seung-wan, who had just finished showering and was coming out of the bathroom.
At that time, Son Seungwan was wearing a bath towel, her hair was still wet and hanging on her shoulders, and she was steaming.
The moment their eyes met, they both froze.
Immediately afterwards, a panicked Son Seungwan turned around and tried to run back to his room, only to step on the corner of a loose bath towel—and that was the end of that.
Li Yuan closed his eyes.
He really closed his eyes.
Really.
No matter how he explained it, Son Seung-wan always acted that way whenever she saw him.
"Alright, that's enough." Li Yuan raised his hands in surrender, quickly changing the subject, "So what exactly did you call me here for?"
Son Seungwan snorted, picked up two tickets from the table, and handed them to him.
"My sister said she was coming, but something came up and she can't make it." She turned her face away, her tone indifferent, as if the matter had nothing to do with her.
Li Yuan took the ticket and glanced at it—front row, excellent seat, the kind of view that money can't necessarily buy.
He looked up and casually asked, "Katsuki-no-na?"
Son Seung-wan's face turned even redder—this time not from embarrassment, but from anger.
"You've never called me 'Noona'!" She bit her lip, her voice filled with obvious grievance and anger. "You always call me 'Warm, Warm'! But you call me 'Katsuki Noona' so easily!"
"Haven't we seen Seung-hyeon-ni in a long time?"
Bae Joo-hyun murmured from the side, "You haven't seen us in a long time either..."
Sun Shengwan nodded in agreement, and the two of them stood on the same side for the first time. All four eyes fell on Li Yuan, as if they were judging a heartless man.
"It's my fault, it's my fault." Li Yuan quickly lowered his head and admitted his guilt, his attitude was upright, "I'll have plenty of time to see you all in the future."
He was talking about how he was about to go to South Korea as an exchange student, and he thought that once he got to Seoul, there would be more opportunities to meet.
However, Bae Joo-hyun and Son Seung-wan clearly interpreted it as something else entirely.
They thought that since Li Yuan was about to graduate, he would have more free time than when he was in school, and therefore would be able to visit them more often.
"After starting work, I have even less freedom..." Bae Joo-hyun sighed, her tone carrying the helplessness of someone who had been through it all.
Son Seungwan nodded in deep understanding, and his anger from before subsided considerably.
They used to think that the trainee period was the most tiring stage of their lives—practicing from morning till night, covered in injuries, and only getting a few minutes of sleep. But after they actually debuted, they realized that the hardships of being a trainee were just an appetizer.
With one trip after another, I'm getting less and less sleep, and even a moment to catch my breath feels like a luxury.
Lee Won said he would have time to visit you guys once he got to university, but he never went to Korea even once in a year, which makes me angry.
"Now that you've got the ticket, you can leave." Son Seungwan waved his hand dismissively, as if shooing away an annoying fly.
"Then I'll be going. I look forward to your performance!" Li Yuan smiled, didn't linger, picked up his backpack and left.
There will be plenty of opportunities to see them in the future, but it's best to be careful since it's late at night.
